Andretta LaShun Whiturs was born the only child to Andrea “Gayle” Whiturs on April 26, 1972 in Dallas, Texas. She was affectionately known to her family and close friends as “Shun.”
Shun attended schools in the Rockwall Independent School District.
She united with St. Paul A.M.E. Church-Rockwall at an early age and was baptized. At St. Paul, Shun served as a Junior Usher and sang in the Youth and Young Adult choirs.
Shun had the gift of creativity and artistry. She had a very infectious laugh which we will all miss.
Shun served in the field of Healthcare as a Nursing Assistant, Home health aide and as a cook.
Shun was the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, Alicia “Janae” and Audrea “Drea.”
On August 3, 2016 Shun was united in Holy Matrimony to Clifton Osborne.
Shun was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Allani Jaleesa and other beloved family members.
On June 6, 2019 at 3:41 pm, Shun’s golden heart stopped beating; her weary hands were put to rest.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband; Clifton Osborne of Dallas, TX. Her mother; Andrea Gayle Whiturs, of Jacksonville, TX. Her father; David Lee Jones (Jackie) of Desoto, TX. Her daughters; Alicia Karriem (Hassan) of Jacksonville, TX and Audrea Woods, of Dallas, TX. Maternal grandmother; Rosa Harris of Dallas, TX and a great-great aunt; Helen Jones of Jacksonville, TX. A special “Dad” Garland Smallwood and family. Mother in law: Juanita Jones. She also leaves behind six aunts, four uncles, several cousins, and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
