Annie Shirley Jones, born on June 3, 1950, in Shreveport, Louisiana, departed this life on March 1, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. She will be remembered as a beloved mother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her sweet, loving, and caring personality.
Annie's professional journey saw her become a proud employee of Macy's, where she dedicated several years of her life before retiring. Her commitment to her work was a testament to her strong character and determination.
Education held a significant place in Annie's life. She accepted Christ at an early age, uniting with the High Praise Church, where she served diligently as a missionary. Annie's academic pursuits began in Dallas, Texas, culminating in her graduation from James Madison High School. Her love for the church and dedication to the Lord's work volunteered her spirit into the community.
Annie is survived by her loving daughter, Erica Jones; her sons, Cedric Jones and Bryron Jones; and her sisters, Joyce and Melinda. She also leaves behind her brothers, Greg, James, Jon, and Larry, who will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her cherished grandmother, Melinda Allen; her mother, Lola Allen; her sister, Peggy Gabriel; and her brothers, Harold Fields and Michael Allen. Additionally, she mourns the loss of her husband, Charles Jones Sr., and her son, Charles Jones Jr.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects to Annie during the visitation on March 11, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Eternal Rest Funeral Home in Desoto, Texas. A funeral service will be held the following day, March 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the DeSoto Small Chapel, where those who knew and loved Annie can come together to celebrate her life.
Annie Shirley Jones will be missed dearly, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
