Bessie Delores Armstrong was born on October 30, 1942 , to the union of Raymond and Ida Bayless in McKinney, Texas.

Bessie received her formal education in the Dallas Independent School District. She graduated from James Madison High School in Dallas, Texas.

Bessie accepted Christ her savior at New Waverly Baptist Church at an early age, under the leadership of Rev. W. C. Clark, and continued to service under Rev. R. T. Conley. She later united with Hope in Christ Bible Church, under the leadership of Pastor Willie B. King, in Dallas, Texas.

Bessie was united in holy matrimony with Billy Armstrong on November 29, 1973 in Dallas, Texas. To their union 2 children were born.

In her leisure, Bessie enjoyed playing bingo and cards, and spending time with family.

Bessie D. Armstrong departed this life on May 20, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Armstrong; daughter, Tamberly Kayshun Armstrong; mother, Ida Bayless; 2 brothers, Raymond Bayless, Jr. and Donnie Bayless.

She leaves to cherish her memories: father, Raymond Bayless, Sr. (Lillie); daughter, Tarunna Thompson (Larry); granddaughters, Mistry Bayless (Marcus) and Farron Bayless; great grandchildren, Armani Bayless and Ayeden Hawkins; 3 sisters, Laura Foster, Amos Ardell Roney, Sarah Reeves (Reginald); 3 brothers, Richard Bayless, Sr., Billy Ray Bayless (Ruby), Arthur Ray Derricks (Willie Mae); sisters-in-law, Evelyn Williams, Carolyn Gordon (Greg), Patricia English, Beverly Riggs, and a host of nieces and nephews.
