Ms. Betty Jewel Massengill was born January 11, 1948, in Ennis, Texas to parents Luther and Salena Lewis, she was the eldest of two children.

She accepted Christ at an early age, she united with New Mount Zion, Ferris, Tx and served her church well, she sang in the choir for many years.

She attended public school in Palmer and graduated from Palmer Callahan G.W. Carver High school.  She worked in Ferris, Tx at the Bell factory until she later moved to Dallas, Texas and started working as a housekeeper.

She leaves to cherish her memory three children: Tarronce Massengill, Shemika Massengill, and Demetria Lewis.  She has one grandchild Tacorrie Massengill along with a long list of friends and extended family whom she loved dearly.
