Dallas

Billie Ruth Piggee, affectionately known as "Cousin P," graced the world with her presence on September 24, 1945, in the vibrant city of Dallas, Texas. She traversed this earthly realm until January 4, 2025, when she succumbed to a courageous battle with cancer that spanned over a decade. her life, Billie exemplified a spirit of kindness and generosity, carving a path illuminated by her sweet, loving, and magnificent personality.

A legacy of compassion resides in her professional endeavors, as Billie dedicated years to the noble service of Parkland Hospital's business office and later provided unwavering support at Children's Hospital. Her profound love for helping others resonated with all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her tireless efforts to provide care and comfort reflect her unwavering commitment to the well-being of those around her.

A proud alumna of the Dallas Independent School District, Billie's academic pursuits ignited her passion for numbers, and her fondness for volleyball demonstrated her spirited embrace of both intellectual and physical challenges. Her love for the game served as a backdrop to a life filled with lively engagement, further enriched by her hobbies of bingo, singing, and praise dancing, which brought joy not only to herself but to everyone fortunate enough to bask in her radiant personality.

Billie cherished family above all else, finding immense pride and fulfillment in the cherished moments spent with her loved ones. She is survived by her sons, Timothy (Sherry), Billy, and Kerry (Cherrika) Gadberry; her daughter, Sandra (David) Berry; and her beloved grandchildren—J'nice, Laquisha, Tiffany, Timothy Jr., Brandon, Princess, Gary, and Tonya. The blessings of family were crowned by her proudest accomplishments: bearing witness to the lives and milestones of her grandchildren, each a living testament to her love.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Virgina Hutchinson, and her stepfather, Lewis Hutchinson, both of whom she held close to her heart throughout her life.

As we gather to honor Billie Ruth Piggee, we celebrate a woman whose heart was as expansive as her laughter was genuine. Her life, a melody of grace and warmth, played its final note, yet the echoes of her kindness and love will reverberate in the hearts of all who were touched by her beautiful spirit.
