Life Reflections of Brenda Carol Lewis
August 28, 1955 ~ April 24, 2019
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
Brenda Carol Lewis, known to her family as “Big Brenda” was born on August 28, 1955 to the union of Elze and Verta M. Jacobs in Dallas, Texas.
Brenda Carol Lewis received her formal education at L.G. Pinkston High School in Dallas, Texas.
Brenda accepted Christ as her Savior at Christian House of Prayer at the age of 60 years old.
Brenda Carol Jacobs was united in holy matrimony with James Earl Lewis on April 17, 1974 in Dallas, Texas.
She was employed by Parkland Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide for several years and later at DART as a paratransit operator.
In her leisure, she loved participating in family gatherings. Back in the day she used to cook every Sunday and invite everyone over for dinner and fun. Cards, dominoes and shooting pool is what she was known for. However, her dance moves have to be the most memorable. She was funny, kind and very generous. Brenda enjoyed laughing and joking around, but above all she loved her family. She loved to dress and was the Life of all the parties.
Brenda Carol Lewis departed this life on April 24, 2019. She was preceded in death by: her parents; Elze “Jake” and Verta Mae Jacobs, her husband; James E. Lewis.
Brenda loved life & loved her family. She will be sorely missed by her family as well as friends. She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter; Jeannette A. Adams (Stacy), one son; Terrance M. Lewis (Tren’a), her beloved grandchildren; Terrance, Camelia, Treyana, Collin, Trenda, Tiana, one great-granddaughter, Aubrey, step-mother; Delois Johnson, six sisters; Veatrice “Winky” Thurmon, Lois F.
