Carnesal Renae Brown was born on May 3, 1962 to the union of  Reverend Simms Drummer Sr. and Doris Ann Lair-Drummer in Pineville, Louisiana.

Carnesal received her formal education in the Dallas Public School System, graduating from South Oak Cliff High School Class of 1980.

Carnesal accepted Christ as her Savior at Love Chapel under the leadership of Reverend L.C. Smith at an early age and was united with Mt. Gilead Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend David Jones. She later became a  member of the Mt. Grove Missionary Baptist Church  under the leadership of Pastor William Robinson, where she served in the  choir and was a  faithful member until her death.

Carnesal was united in holy matrimony with David Brown on June 22, 1991 in Dallas, Texas.

She was employed by Baylor Scott & White in 1982 where she began her career working with the Kitchen Staff and then served as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for 33 years. Carnesalworked with some of Baylor’s most vulnerable patients; those fighting cancer, which was a good fit for her warm personality.
