Curtis Babers was born on May, 27th, 1934, in Dawson, Texas, to Mr. George Babers and Mable Jones, Babers.  He attended G.W Carter School in Dawson Texas. He was employed with the city of Hubbard, Texas for many years, and later went to work for The Independent School District (ISD) of Corsicana, Texas. He accepted Christ at an early age. He loved to sing, while singing in a group, during a church service he met and later married the love of his life, the one and only, Ms. Nancy Williams Babers. In his later years, he rededicated his life, to Christ, and became a faithful member of The Church of A New Beginning, of Dawson, Texas. Mr. Curtis was known for his marksmanship, in hunting wild game (rabbits & squirrels), very seldom did he miss his target.

On June 22, 2017, Curtis Babers was called from labor to rest.  He was preceded in death by both parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 62  years, Ms. Nancy Babers;  7 sons, Curtis E. Babers, Clovis New Mexico, Tony C. Babers, Dawson, Texas, Trina L. Babers (Debra), Plano, Texas, Tyrone Babers (Kimberly), Hubbard, Texas, Victor M. Babers (Dee), Lancaster, Texas,  James E. Babers (Jennifer), Radcliff, Kentucky, and Chad McGahan, Corsicana, Texas; five daughters, Sharon C. Washington (Don), Cleburne, Texas, Catraka A. Davis (Willie), Hooks, Texas, Leslie D. Babers, Colorado, Springs, Colorado, Barbara A. Copeland (KC), Italy, Texas, and Linda L. Sellers (Newman), Hubbard, Texas; 33  grandchildren, 51 great-grands, and 2 great-great grands ;  4 brothers, George Babers Jr, Phoenix, Arizona, Otis Babers, Hollis, Okalohoma, James Babers, Dallas, Texas, Johnny Babers, Waco, Texas; 2 sisters, Johnnie Mae Lawrence, Odesa, Texas, and Erma Jean. Crayton, Dallas, Texas; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.
