Daisy Hughes was born December 25, 1929 to the parentage of Melvin Furnace and Inez Reed; both preceded her in death.

Daisy was a member of Church of Christ on Martin Luther King in Ennis, Texas. She married Jesse J. Hughes, Sr. (deceased) in September 1945. To this union six children were born.

Daisy Hughes departed this life December 8, 2016. She was preceded in death a daughter at birth, Lauren Hughes; sister, Ruth Jean Fuller; and a loving cousin, Jones Skinner (Eva).

She is survived by three sons, Jesse (Carol) Hughes, Jr., of Cedar Hill, Billy (Lola) Hughes, Sr., of Ennis, Jimmy (Jean) Hughes of Ennis; two daughters, Betty Ross of Ennis, and Brenda Hughes of Ennis; one brother, James (Peggy) Reed of Mangum, Oklahoma; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
