Doris Jean Hornbuckle Douglas was born on September 18, 1943 to the union of Enoch and Virolee Hornbuckle in Dallas, Texas. 

Doris Jean received her formal education at Howard High School in Wilmington, Delaware. 

Doris Jean accepted Christ as her Savior at Shady Grove Baptist Church at an early age. 

Doris Jean Hornbuckle was united in holy matrimony with Jayseal Douglas Jr. on June 17, 1965 in Dallas, Texas. Their union was blessed with 3 children. She affectionately loved and nurtured her children sharing a special relationship with each of them. 

Doris Jean came from a generation that viewed homemaking as an honored profession. She took great pride in her career as a Domestic Engineer, where she served the Northway Family in many capacities, including Nanny. This role offered her the opportunity to travel abroad to places like Hawaii and the Caribbean. 

She was employed by the Northways as a Domestic Engineer for 20 years. 

In her leisure, she enjoyed playing card games, going to the casino and Lone Star Park and spending time with her family. 

Doris Jean Hornbuckle Douglas departed this life on January 19, 2020. She was preceded in death by: her parents; Enoch & Virolee Hornbuckle, husband; Jayseal Douglas Jr., brothers; Ernest Hornbuckle, Anthony Hornbuckle and her sister; Jetty B. Hornbuckle. 

She leaves to cherish her memory: her 3 beautiful children; Kirk (Leah) Douglas, Reginald (Carol) Douglas, Debra (Kelvin) Brown, 6 grandchildren; Regina, Curtis Jay, Reggric, Sterling, Keylan, Donovan, 5 great grandchildren; RhiayannaJakorii, Mariah, Kylor, Kyro (who is to be expected to be born in February 2020), step-mother; Luewill Hornbuckle, 4 brothers; Raymond Hornbuckle, Robert Taylor, Gerald Hornbuckle, Cyril Hornbuckle, 3 sisters; Veronica Hornbuckle, Bridget Frazier and Salome Cooper.
