Dorothy Helen Chambers
Dorothy Helen Barge Chambers was born on September 1, 1942 to the union of Herman Sr and Alma Henson Barge in Wortham, Texas.
She attended F.W. Wheeler High School in Wortham, Texas.
Dorothy Chambers accepted Christ as her savior at Smith Chapel PBC under the leadership of the late Rev. R.C. Butcher in Wortham, Texas, where she served on the usher board, Sunday school and sang in the youth choir. She then united with the Greater Macedonia under the leadership of the late Rev. W.P. Jackson, where she sang in the choir. Years later she joined the Bethlehem PBC under the late Rev. Herman Barge and remained a member until death.
Dorothy Barge was united in holy matrimony with James Edward Chambers in 1958 and moved to Dallas, Texas. Their union was blessed with 6 children.
Dorothy Helen Chambers agreed it was time to move to her heavenly home on April 2, 2019. She was preceded in death by: her husband of 52 years; James Chambers, father; Herman Barge, mother; Alma Barge, son; Aundra Chambers, brothers; Herman Barge Jr, Phillip Barge Sr. (Bilbo).
She leaves to cherish her memory: two sons; Edward Dwight Chambers, Kevin Chambers, three daughters; Freda Chambers Conley, Diana Chambers, Lisa Chambers, 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
