Elaine Yvonne Coumpy-Murray was born on March 31, 1957, to Paul and Murriel Coumpy in Ferris, Texas.
Elaine received her formal education at Dunbar High School and graduated from Ferris High School in the Class of 1975.
Elaine accepted Christ as her Savior at Macedonia Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. S.M. Cloud. At the time of her passing she was an active member of Greater Garden Baptist Church working in the culinary department and singing in the choir under the leadership of Pastor, Alfred Cox Jr.
Elaine married and had two sons.
She was employed by Brass and Craft of Lancaster, Texas and Dallas County Elections Department.
In her leisure, she enjoyed her family, church, traveling, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
Elaine Yvonne Coumpy-Murray departed this life on Monday, November 14, 2022. She was preceded in death by: her father; Rev. Paul H. Coumpy, brothers; Dennis P. Coumpy and James E. Coumpy and grandson; Tyren D. Runnels.
She leaves to cherish her memory: mother; Murriel L. Coumpy, sons; Jason Louis Runnels and Aritz Lee Murray III (CeTarika), beloved significant other; Richard W. Cox, siblings; Brenda A. Tillie (Bobby), Sharon R. Risby, Gloria M. Coumpy, Melvin D. Coumpy, Hazel R. Cox (Alfred), Priscilla R. Hooks (Johnnie), Lynn E. Coumpy (Annette), and Janice Ross (Neman), grandchildren; Ashley Cox, Titus Runnels, Arleigh K. Murray, and great granddaughter; Lyric Gamble, Uncle Alfred Henley, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
