Emily Sue Lawrence was born June 16, 1962 in Terrell, Texas to Elizabeth Sue Castillo and Joe Castillo (deceased). She received her formal education at Mesquite High School.

Emily met and married Donald Duane Lawrence. To this union two children were born: Jasmine Lee Lawrence and Katherine Sue Lawrence (deceased).

Emily worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart. She loved animals, crafts, pottery, and country music.

She leaves behind her siblings: Matthew Joe Castillo (Tanya), Mikel Roy Castillo (Mary Cook); sister-in-law, Louise Castillo; nieces and nephews: Joe Earon Castillo (Desiree), Michelle Louise Mayne (William Honeycutt), Heather Sue Castillo (Jeremy Baker), and a host of relatives and friends.
