Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, anhouse not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Gilbert Edward Harris was born 8-18-1946 to Ulas James and Lola Bell Harris in Timpson, TX.
Gilbert Harris received his formal education at Timpson High School in Timpson, TX. He was a major asset to his high school’s basketball team. He furthered his education in Engineering schools for Welders.
Gilbert was a strong believer in Christ and a man who was always speaking and studying the word of God. He was non-denomination, kept his faith in Jesus and all the words in the Holy Bible.
Gilbert Edward Harris was united in holy matrimony with CarialCeciel Brown on 8-18-1979 in Dallas, TX, their union was blessed with 4 children.
He was employed by General Electric for many years as a Welder and a Union Steward.
In his leisure he enjoyed spending time with family, giving his children treats, watching sports; his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed popping fireworks on the 4th of July and giving presents on Christmas. He always stayed cleaned and dressed well. Gilbert was outgoing, charming, a big presence in the room and he constantly spoke the word of God. He had a prayer room dedicated to studying the bible and worshiping God.
Membership: International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, Patriarch Fellowship Honored Gilbert Haris as an Isaac Member.
Gilbert Edward Harris departed life on 6-30-2020 at 9:30 am. He was preceded in death by: Wife: Carial Ceciel Harris; Parents: UlasJames and Lola Bell Harris; Siblings: Larry, Leonard, Howard (Ray), James (Jay), and Kenneth Harris, Mettie Dorothy Bell, Laura Faye, Willie Vivian (Ratcliff) Johnson and Katherine McClendon; Sister in law: Shirley Harris; Brother in law: Carl Brown and Pat Shepherd and many family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Children: Corisma Harris-Lankford, Tiounce Baines, Yolanda Brown-Perkins and Derrick Martin; Son in laws: Rodrick Lankford and Willie Perkins; Grandchildren: Rodrick (Victdeon) Lankford, Korisma (Dastar) Lankford, DevinairLankford, Brilliance Lankford, soon to come baby lankford, Laquesha Brown-Simms, Laquada Brown, Elijah Perkins, Makayla and Miles Martin; Great Grandchildren: Brandon Taylor, Bryson Freeman and LaParis Simms; Grandson in law: Ross Simms; Sister: Joyce Mccoy; Sister in Law: Joyce Shepherd and Bobby Shepherd; Brother in law: Clemon McCoy/ many nieces and nephews, cousins and In laws: The Lankford Family
