Gwendolyn Carol Redwine Hall was born November 19, 1955 to the parentage of Lee Otis Timmons and Bernice Williams. She attended the McKinney and Farmersville Independent School Districts and received her diploma through continuing education programs. Gwen joined Mt. Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church at an early age. She would not miss getting in the car on Sunday mornings with her grand-parents Jack and Gladys Timmons to attend church. She was a faithful member at Freewill from her early baptismal until her transition to glory.
Being the first born, Gwen and her Mom shared a special bond. They were always together. If you saw one, the other wasn’t far behind. They enjoyed shopping together, eating out, and their favorite past-time was fishing. They played practical jokes together and would laugh so hard until one of them had tears in her eyes, usually that was Gwen. Ask any one of the sisters or brothers and they will tell you that Gwen was the best big sister and friend on earth.
Throughout her childhood, Gwen enjoyed watching her Big Mama (Miss Missy) cook, and she became an excellent cook putting her special touch to greens, red beans, ox-tails and oh those chitterlings. The pride and joy of her life were her sons Carlton and Cedrick (deceased). Sometimes misbehaving and adventurous, she made sure they knew right from wrong. Gwen was very proud of her son’s accomplishments, and she adored her grand-children. Words cannot express, the love and admiration she had for Glenn Hall who cared for, provided for, and raised her sons as though they were his own.
Gwen was employed with Fisher Controls for over 18 years. She made a career move to the home healthcare field with Mustang Creek Estates. She found her passion for helping others. She was honored with the 2016 Texas Hero Award, and she was named the 2015 Employee of the Year for Mustang Creek Estates of Allen. Gwen was a care giver with Mustang Creek Estates for 12 years and was a Supervisor at the time of her death.
Gwen’s hobbies included dancing, playing softball, working in her flower beds, and fishing.
Gwendolyn Carol Redwine Hall departed this life on June 7, 2019. She is preceded in death by her father Lee Otis Timmons, her son Cedrick Redwine, Sr., ex-husband Carlton Redwine Sr., and her maternal and paternal grand-parents.
