Deacon James earl Lockhart II accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at Independent Missionary Baptist Church. Due to his strong love, hope, and faith in Christ, on December 28,2008 he was ordained deacon of Independent Missionary Baptist Church, under leadership of Pastor Louis Ray Massey, Sr. He became an active, faithful and dedicated member of the male chorus. He also attended Sunday School, bible study, and prayer meeting.

Throughout his life, he showed faithfulness and great leadership. He was a football and basketball scholar and he graduated from Ennis High School, Ennis, Texas in 1974. He was an all-American athlete and because of this he received a dual scholarship p to Howard Payne University of Brownwood, Texas. Because of his dedication and love for his family he returned home from college and married Sheila Ann Evans. On March 9, 1976, he accepted holy matrimony with the first and only love of his life. To this union three beautiful children were born.

He was employed by Flintkote, Genstar and Certainteed for 30 years. When the company closed, he became employed by Leggett & Platt, and later Jtekt, until God called him home. James had a heart of gold. He was an anointed man and had a strong love for God. He had powerful love for his entire family unconditionally. He had a special love for his pastor and church family.
