Javonna L. Carson Ratliff January 2, 2016

Javonna L. Carson Ratliff, a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015. She was born on August 2, 1975 in Dallas, TX to the parentage of James and Danna Carson. Graduating from David W. Carter High School in 1994, she later obtained an Associate’s degree in Accounting from Mountain View College and was currently enrolled at Liberty University pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Governmental Non-Profit Accounting. She also participated in several charitable organizations and was a legacy member of the Order of Eastern Star.

At an early age, Javonna accepted Christ at Homeland Street Missionary Baptist Church and later joined Red Sea/ St. Stephens Community Baptist Church, where she participated in various ministries which included being an active member of The Anointed Praisers. During this time she met her soul mate and friend, Tyson D. Ratliff and on November 13, 1999, they entered into holy matrimony for 16 years.

Everyone who knew her recognized that Javonna’s commitment to her family was the core of her life. Her steadfast love and   dedication produced five wonderful children, who were instilled the teachings and goodness of Jesus Christ.

Javonna worked at AT&T for many years and because of her love for numbers she was excited to start her new career with H&R Block. She was a loyal friend to many and could always be counted on for a word of advice or spiritual counseling. She will forever be remembered for her infectious smile that could light up a room, her witty responses and her wisdom. JaVonna was always there for whoever was in need and how she lived her life was an example to others on how to be a Godly wife, mother and friend.

She was preceded in death by her mother Danna Lavell Carson, her daughter Danna Simone Ratliff, and her brother Kenny Scott and leaves to cherish: her loving husband Tyson Ratliff, 5 children: Daylon, Donovan, Dania, Dakota and Dylan, her parents, James & Charlotte Carson, 2 siblings, Yolanda Carson and Charmion Bell, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other family members. She also leaves 2 very best friends, Kelsi Young and Teresa Wallace.
