Joyce Ann Fields departed this life for eternal life on July 3, 2017 at her private care facility in McKinney, Texas. On January 9, 2016, she was diagnosed with glioblastoma brain cancer. Despite being given a life expectancy of only one year, with the support of loved ones, she surpassed that by an additional seven months, three days, seven hours and thirty minutes. She has now gained her wings and is at peace with our heavenly Father.
Joyce was gifted to Mr. Norris Rogers Sr. and Mrs. Vivian T. Peoples-Rogers on August 22, 1952 in Pittsburg, Texas, where she spent much of her young life surrounded by a wealth of family and attending Pine Bluff Baptist church.
She later moved to the Dallas area, where her own family beginnings would unfold. Young and ready to begin her career, she took a job at Aramark Uniform Services and worked there for over 38 years, until she could no longer work due to her illness.
While working at Aramark, she met and married Albert Stanley Fields and together they raised two beautiful children in their Dallas home until his life ended abruptly from a heart attack in 1978.
Being the fighter she was, she raised her two children to adulthood without ever remarrying and spent many of her days enjoying life and being a gentle, loving, supportive mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandparent and friend to all who knew her.
Joyce was a dedicated woman who would never hesitate to help one in need and always placed family first and foremost. She was a woman of strength and courage fearing nothing but God, but also very patient, sensitive and a compassionate giver from her heart. These traits contributed to the individual that she was, the rock of her family and a dedicated hard worker until her life’s end. Even in her last days, she’d say,“I have to go, I have things to do.” So, with that we say goodnight & sleep well sweet Joyce ~ for your work is done here and we know you’re working on bigger and better things now.
Joyce leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Morris Wallace, daughter, Danielle Fields as well as three grandchildren, Da’Leesia Gordon, Marcus Wallace, Joshua Pena, her sister, Kathren and three brothers, Norris Jr., Charles and Samuel Rogers AND a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, first and second cousins whom she dearly loved.
~The footprints Joyce leaves behind…will forever remain embedded our hearts~
