Laretha Deshun Ross was born December 16, 1986 to the parentage of Diane Reed. Laretha attended Duncanville Independent School District from 1991-2005. As a freshman, Laretha organized a step team on which she served as captain. She also served as an Athletic Physical Trainer from 2003-2005, where she gained her love for all sports. She graduated a Texas Scholar from high school in 2005.

Laretha furthered her studies at North Lake Community College.

Laretha grew to know the Lord and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was baptized at Rock of Faith Church under the leadership of Pastor Hennon Cooper, Jr. Growing up in church, Laretha loved the Lord and worked in many ministries of the church. She was a part of the choir, praise team, and she was the leader of the step team.

On December 1, 2016, God granted Laretha her wings so she could be lifted up from this life to a new life with him in heaven. As she entered the gates of heaven, she was welcomed by her great grandparents, Charlies and Vera Millage; her great uncles Charles Millage, Henry Millage, Billy Roy Millage; and her beloved baby girl, Anayah, which we know brought joy to her heart. She’s happy and those left to cherish all her beautiful memories: her beautiful daughter, Ka’myah Finnell; mother, Diane Reed; 3 sisters, Yolannita Duncan, Martha Duncan, and Anquishae Warren (Jarel); 2 brothers, Iketrick Duncan and Marlon Oliver, Jr.; 1 nephew, Isaiah B. Williams; 2 nieces, Sanayah Warren and Skylar Warren; grandmother, Ruby Lee Duncan, and a host of aunts, grand aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends.
