Levado Buford was born on August 13, 1921, and received her formal education in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Levado Smith was united in holy matrimony with Herman Buford on February 6, 1946, in Dallas, Texas. Their union was blessed with one child.

She was employed by Dallas Police Department as a School Patrol Guard for over fifteen years. In her leisure, she enjoyed raising hell with others, working in her yard and watching out for her neighbors.

Levado Buford departed this life on September 29, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Buford; her parents, Albert and Edith Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Ronald Buford and his wife, Katie Buford of York, Maine; two granddaughters, Gabrielle Pina of Dallas, Texas and Christine Buford of Los Angeles, California; three great-grandchildren, Julian, Maia and Langston of Dallas, Texas; one niece, Paula Ann Jones and nephew, Earl Keith Moore of Dallas, Texas and other family and friends, Elnora Stafford and Robert Smith.
