Johnnie Faye Henderson Jones was born August 19, 1944 in Gilmer, TX to the late Cicero Henderson and Connie Mae Webb Henderson. She received her education from Bruce High School in Gilmer, TX. At an early age, she joined Lake Providence Baptist Church.

In her 20’s, she moved to Dallas, TX where she sought new opportunities for herself and her two children. She offered love and life lessons (neither of which lacked humor and truth) to all that she encountered, and healed the hearts of many. She was known as “Mama” to many, and they all loved her the same.

Needless to say, Johnnie Faye Jones was an incredibly strong woman, enduring many setbacks and health scares in her life, and bouncing back effortlessly from them as even the closest ones to her watched in amazement. She never lost her love and zest for life.

She is preceded in death by both parents, her husband, Benjamin Jones, an angelic baby son, Eric Jones, one grandson, Briante Jones, four sisters: Pauline Crawford, Clide Mae Wright, Verna L. Williams, four brothers: Cicero Henderson, Jr., Robert (Bob) Henderson, John Craig, and Willie James Granville.

On February 28, 2017, she departed from this life and leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter: Rechell Jones-Williams, a son: Patrick Bernard Jones, both of Lancaster, TX., two granddaughters: L’Eboni Chontia Jones and Bria LaDawn Jones, and a grandson: Patrick Jones II. In addition, she also leaves two brothers: Rev. L.H. Henderson of Longview, Tx, and Alton Henderson of Gilmer, TX along with a host of nephews, nieces, friends, and family.
