Mary Evelyn was born on December 27, 1944 to the union of Thad Shelton and Fannie Mae Randolph Shelton in Waco, Texas.

Mary (Boo Taylor) received her formal education at A.J. Moore High School in Waco, Texas. She furthered her education at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas and Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas.

Mary accepted Christ as her Savior at St. James United Methodist Church at an early age and was united with St. James United Methodist and Cross of Christ Baptist Church where she served as the musician and choir director.

Mary Shelton was united in holy matrimony with Billy White on April 17, 1965 in Waco, Texas. Their union was blessed with two children.

She was employed by Texas Department of Human Services as a case worker until she retired in 2008.

In her leisure, she enjoyed music, playing her piano and keyboard, shopping, spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Mary was a part of the A.J. High School Alumni, Kansas City Mass Choir and the Gospel Music Workshop of America.

Mary Evelyn departed this life on October 8, 2019. She was preceded in death by: her husband; Billy White, father; Thad Shelton, mother; Fannie Mae Booker and her loving step-father; Flent Booker.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter; April Dawn White-Parks, son; Keith Fabray White; grandson; Keith Ron’Darrius White, granddaughter; Kristal Lynn Parks, all of Dallas, Texas, loving and devoted uncle; McCoy Shelton, special children; Bridgette White, Rodrick Nicholas, Edwina Currie, Robert Slaughter, Rose Merry Grant, god children; Stacy Williams, Mardis Taylor, Shannon, step-sisters; Rudelle Sims, Troyland Guilford, two devoted friends; Helen Nichols, Scheketar Traylor, a host of aunts, uncles and extended family.
