Mason Wade was born February 3, 1939, in (Freestone County) Fairfield, Texas. He was the third child born during the union of the Late Pastor, Elder Ozel Wade and Arlene Wade. In 1952, he accepted Christ under the leadership of the late Elder Atkins at The Ten Miles Church of God in Christ. He became a faithful member and later the boys of Elder Wade formed a “male chorus”. People would love to hear them sing. Later Mason became a member of the Wade’s Chapel COGIC under the leadership of his father, Elder Ozel Wade.
He graduated from Callahan High School in 1958. After graduation, he began his journey in the workforce. His first jobs were with the Palmer & Ferris Brick Company. Late he began his employment with the Ferris Grainer Company. In 1965, he became a successful employee at Sullivan Transferring Company where he started his career. He became one of the lead drivers and was later promoted to supervisor. Also, he was a lifetime member of the Iron Workers Union Local 263. After working with Sullivan Transferring Company, he finally retired as a stellar employee in December of 1993.
September 5, 1965, Mr. Wade married the lady of his dreams, Brenda Joyce Cox, known as Mary. To this union six children was born. They remained married until death did them part.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Wife, Brenda Wade
She has always been a devoted and loving wife to her husband for over 51 years. She did not leave his side and was always there to encourage and support him in all his endeavors. Usually, if you seem one of them, you would see the other. During his final days, you would find Mary at the hospital by her husband bedside.
