Maurice Lamont McRae was born on April 8, 1971 to the union of Arlington and Pauline Elenor McRae in Orange County, CA. In 1973, the family moved to Houston, TX. He received his education in Bunny Land private school, Our Mother of Mercy Christian School and the Houston Independent School District. He later graduated from the University of Houston Police Academy.
Maurice accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age.
He was employed by DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) as a motorcycle police officer and fire arms instructor for over 26 years until his health forced him to retire in January 2022. He was an original charter member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 80.
He loved fishing and just being on his boat and spending time with family.
Maurice is preceded in death by his brother, Paul Anthony McRae, his aunts, Sharon Diane Moody and Herma Jean Simpson, his uncles, Paul D. Moultry, James McRae, Willie McRae, Samuel McRae and Franklin D. McRae.
Maurice Lamont McRae leaves to cherish his memories and forever keep in their hearts his parents, Arlington and Pauline E. McRae, two children, Joshua Maurice McRae and Rebekka Faith Wilson—McRae, one granddaughter, Janelle Lauren McRae, sister in law, Keisha McRae (Paul, deceased), one niece, Karenza Anice McRae, four nephews, Arlington A. McRae, Nathaniel D. McRae, Paul A. McRae and Khristopher J. McRae, two grand nephews, Ryun A. McRae and Chase A. McRae, nine aunts, Jacqueline Evans, Mable Ann Motte (Kelvin), Vanetta Alice Smith (Joseph), Sarah Poore ( William), Alberta Quick (Bill), Carrie L. Doneghy (James, deceased), Glenda McCall (Marvin, deceased), Patricia Donaldson (Don) and Constance Moultry (Paul, deceased), four uncles, Grady McRae (Grace), Lloyd McRae (Barbara), Eddie L. Moultry (Betty) and Percy Moultry (Mary) and a host of other family and friends.
