Nichele Nicole McKinney was born on November 5, 1973 in Camden, Arkansas. She was the youngest and only daughter of the late James M. Green Sr., and late Bobbie Dale Green. She was always teased about being spoiled and having her daddy wrapped around her finger. Momma didn’t play that!
Nichele was raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. At an early age she confessed her belief in Jesus Christ and was baptized at Lakeside Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Amos Terrell. Her parents made sure she actively participated in church activities; Sunday school, Youth Department, Choir, and BTU. The family relocated back to Arkansas with a short stint in Camden before permanently settling in Pine Bluff. After graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1991, she matriculated on “Dear Mother” campus, The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. While on campus she joined a few campus organizations. In the Fall of 1992, She was initiated into the Alpha Rho Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She gained 29 sisters, and several life-long friendships. During her later years in college, she was employed with Southwest Airlines as a Reservation Sales Agent. After graduating, she pursued a career advancement within Southwest Airlines Corporate Office and moved to Dallas, Texas. She acquired a few other employment opportunities before making Lockheed Martin her final employer. Throughout her personal and professional life many close friends were made. A few were more like family. She will miss her dear friends Theresa Griggs, Aysia Shaw, and Bridget Maddox-Golston.
In 2007, Nichele met the love of her life, Duncan Karl McKinney. They were united in holy matrimony on August 22, 2009. God blessed them considerable; they made memories to last a lifetime. She enjoyed spending time with Duncan; whether it was staying home, sitting on their deck, or traveling. They talked a lot about bettering themselves, their home and their family. Although they never had children together, she was blessed with an instant family; 3 bonus children and 6 grandchildren. There was an abundance of love and respect amongst them.
She was proceeded in death by her brother Derrick D. Green, and her parents
Nichele leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband of 13 years, Duncan Karl McKinney; brother James M. Green Jr(Janet); sister-in-law-Simone(late Derrick D.
