Roy Alexander DeBreaux born on July 28, 1943 in Durham, NC to Grady and Irene Balmer-DeBreaux. He attended and graduated from the Durham school district.

Shortly after graduating from high school he joined the U. S. Army. He served in Vietnam and Korea. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign and Vietnam Service medals, Expert Badge W/16 Rifle Bar Medal, and Bronze Star Medal. After serving 7 years duty in the U. S. Army, Roy lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado, working for the Highway Department, as a heavy equipment specialist operator, before moving to Texas in 1995.

He was introduced to Vesta Mabry Fite through his friends Jimmy and Billie Jackson, October 17, 2007, at Canaan Baptist Church 44th Church Anniversary. They were married August 20, 2011 at Abundant Life Church of God in Christ, in Dallas, Texas.

Roy leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Vesta Mabry-DeBreaux; daughter, Antionette (Toni) Davis, Baltimore, MA; two grandsons and three great grandchildren; special friend, Bobby Lane Johnson-Bey, Waco, TX, Jimmie and Billie Jackson, Dallas, Texas, and host of friends in Waco, Texas, Fort Worth, Texas, and Dallas, Texas.
