Samuel Christian Dior Daniels, or Sam as he was known, was born on October 16, 1978 in Austin, TX to Rev. Gerald W. Daniels, Sr. and Shirley Chambers Daniels. Sam was called home January 25, 2020. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Floyd and Allene Chambers. Paternal grandparents Rudolph Williams and Marian Daniels Goff.

Sam relocated to the Dallas area as a young child, attending schools in both the Cedar Hill and DeSoto school districts. As a child Sam was independent and precocious; never one to follow the leader. He was, in fact a leader of sorts himself. With marked intellect and a way of thinking, he was often referred to as an “old soul”.

Sam loved his family, mother, father and brothers and had a particular affection for his maternal grandmother “Mamo” who lovingly called him “baby” when he was young. Never one to shower you with words or overt acts of affection, Sam had his own way of expressing his love; sometimes you had to read between the lines. Sam was a Believer from his early childhood and was well-versed in Scripture.

Sam leaves to cherish his memory: two wonderful and beautiful daughters; Jazmyn K. Daniels and Paige Daniels. Father; Gerald W. Daniels, Sr. and mother Shirley Chambers Daniels. Two brothers; Kevin P. Daniels (Tracy) and Gerald W. Daniels II. Aunts and uncles; Helen Patterson (Al), Charles Chambers (Joan), Sam Chambers (Tina), Mike Chambers (Sissy), Sharon Goff Mays, and Edwin Goff (Barbara). Followed by his niece and nephew, numerous cousins, and friends. Sam was a beloved son who loved his daughters and wanted nothing but the best for them. He loved rap music, with Scarface as one of his favorite artists. Sam’s motto in life was “be real” and he was just that.

He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. We love you Sam.
