Shelia Mae Jones Ellison was born June 28, 1950, to the parentage of Rev. Lonnie and First Lady Margie Jones in Dallas, Texas. Shelia was the third of six children born. Both parents proceed her in death, as well as two sisters, Barbara and Gloria.
At an early age and having a strong Christian home, Shelia accepted Christ and was baptized at the Riverside Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. A.H. Haggerty. She was a faithful member until her father was called to pastor at the New Macedonia Missionary Church, where she served a choir musician and director. She was faithful until Rev. Jones became ill and had to relinquish his position as pastor.
Shelia was educated in the Wilmer-Hutchins School District and graduated in 1968. Shelia attended Dallas Baptist College, where she met and married Herbert Ellison on July 29, 1971. To this union one son was born, Alonzo Dwight Ellison. Herbert proceeded her in death. As years passed and her health declined, Shelia united with Cleburne Full Gospel Holy Temple, under the leadership of Pastor Johnathan Halton, where she served until God called her home.Shelia has to cherish her memories her son, Alonzo (Deandra); three granddaughters, Ilyasah, Attallah and Qayyimah; one grandson, Aaron and one great-grandson, Luke Doiron. She has two brothers, Lonnie Jones, Jr. and Ron Jones, and two sisters, Joyce Halton and Rose Mary Bryant (Jimmie), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
