Tommy Earl Spencer was born July 28, 1946, in Wills Point, Texas, to Rosie Mackey and Bennie Spencer. He accepted Christ as a youth at the Friendship Baptist Church, Terrell and was a faithful member of the New Mt Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Terrell. He attended public school in Terrell, graduated from Burnett High School in 1964 and enlisted in the US Air Force, where he served in the Vietnam War.

Tommy married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Spencer in 1964 and had 3 children. He worked as a US postal carrier in the city of Dallas for 36 years. Tommy also had the honored privilege of being a “servant leader” as a councilman here in the city of Terrell for nearly 30 years.

Tommy passed on to his eternal home in Glory on June 9, 2017. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Spencer of Terrell; Three children – Xanberlyn McNutt (Darren) and Sharraine Williams (Reginald) of Terrell; Terrence Spencer (Shauna) of Springdale, Arkansas; Four brothers – Ellis Ray, Jimmy, Jeffery and Brian Spencer.

Two special nieces – LaShandra Gordon (Larry) of Forney and Raven Boyd (Fred) of Mesquite; Five grandchildren – Kourtnee and Terrence Spencer Jr., Adrian Williams, Kaden and Mason Spencer; Three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 16^th, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the New Mt Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, located at 133 Mellon St., Terrell, TX 75160. The funeral will be Saturday, June 17^th, at 1:00pm at the Terrell High School Auditorium, 400 Poetry Rd, Terrell, TX 75160.
