The Life Reflections

of

Travis Don Buffington

Travis Don Buffington was born on April 28, 1954 in Rockwall, Texas to the parentage of John and Lottie Dee (McAlister) Buffington.

Travis received his formal education at Bourn Ave School here in Rockwall, Texas.

He accepted Christ as his Savior and united at Lake’s Chapel Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Elder George Lakes in Rockwall, Texas. He later united with Davis Chapel Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Elder Alvin Reeves in the city of Garland, Texas.

Travis worked as a common laborer, working  different jobs here and there until he became disabled causing him not to work.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Lottie Buffington, two brothers; Lee Samuel, Charles, and one sister; Ethel Craig.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sisters; Helen (George) Nix of Rowlett, TX, Virginia Wooten of Rockwall, TX, one aunt; Earline (Willie) Landrum of Los Angeles, CA, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The angels gathered near your bed

So very close to you,

For they knew the pain and suffering

You were going through,

We thought about so many things

So we held so tightly to your hand

Oh how we wished that you were strong

And happy once again.

But your eyes were looking homeward

To that place beyond the sky,

 Where Jesus was there waiting

It was time to say good-bye.

We struggled with our selfish thoughts

For we wanted you to stay.

So we could laugh and talk again

Like we did just yesterday.

But Jesus knew the answer

And we knew he loved you so.

So we gave to you life’s greatest gift.

The gift of letting go.
