For we know that if your earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens:

II Corinthians 5:1

Vera Ann Ford was born June 21, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nevada to the late Daisy Lee and Floyd Turner. Vera grew up in Tallulah, Louisiana.

Vera married the love of her life James (Mighty Boy) Ford, who she enjoyed spending time and building a life with. They were a happy couple who practiced the adage of “Laughter is Good for the Soul”. In 2010, Vera and James relocated to McKinney, Tx to be closer to family. Vera accepted Christ and was baptized in 2016 at St. Mark Baptist Church in McKinney, Tx. During her illness, Vera continued to smile, and her infectious laugh was sure to brighten your day as she fought this tough battle.

Vera answered God’s call to Glory on September 24, 2020. She is preceded in death by mother, Daisy Lee, father, Floyd Turner, husband, James Ford, two sisters, Beatrice Lee and Gloria Mukes, and two brothers, Nathaniel Lee and Billy Lee.

She leaves to cherish her memories, sisters, Curlee (Terrell) Prothowof Houston, Tx and Doris Lee of McKinney, Tx; sister-in-law’s, Lillian Lee, Wanda Sloan and Hazel Bridges, sister friends, Berta (Ricky) Phillips and Rose Owens, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and her chemo family.
