Mr. Vernon Chandler was born in Corsicana, Texas to the parentage of Mr. Herman Chandler, Sr. and Mrs. Luebelle Johnson Chandler. He received his formal education in the Corsicana Independent School District.

Vernon met and married Lillie Marie Dunn, and to this union three boys were born.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rossie Bell Cook; brothers, James Earl, Herman Chandler, Jr. (his twin), and Sidney Chandler, Sr.

He is survived by his sister, Ollie Mae Chandler (Mark Hardaway) of Corsicana, Texas; daughters, Mary Chandler (Richard), Shavonda Steward of Lawton, Oklahoma, Lawanna Dews (Jerald) of Dallas, Texas; sons, Gary Chandler of Corsicana, Texas, Sanua Chandler of Lubbuck, Texas, Vernon Chandler, Jr. of Omaha, Nebraska, Anthony Bolden (Ancurnette) of Dallas, Texas, Vernon Delando Williams (Kashetra) of Dallas, Texas; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
