Wade Lee Jernigan was born June 6th, 1959 in Amarillo, Texas the son of L.D. and Dorothy Jernigan. At an early age, he joined the Mount Olive Baptist church and continued to follow God’s path until his death.  He attended Hilltop Elementary, Halmet and Whittier Elementary.  He also attended Travis Middle School and Palo Duro High School.  Wade joined the Navy in 1978 and served as an Intelligence Specialist until 1981.  He was a Certified Welder and worked for companies in Tallahassee Florida until he moved to Dallas, Texas.

Surviving Wade are his parents LD & Dorothy Jernigan of Amarillo, one brother Jimmy and Denise Jernigan of Amarillo. Five sisters Helen & Gregory Griffin of Dallas, Stella Jernigan of Irving, Texas, Della Jernigan of Amarillo, Texas, Ella Jernigan of Arlington, Texas, Patricia & Freddie Buckingham of Amarillo, Texas.  He is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Lonnie Jernigan and grandparents.
