Willie Edwards Jones

September 22, 1934 ~ February 8, 2020

Willie Edwards Jones, son of the late Ulysses and Ira D. Jones, was the 4^th of 11 children. He was born September 22, 1934 in Linden, Texas. He went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the age of 85.

Willie gave his life to the Lord at an early age at the Sunrise Baptist Church.

A good student academically, Willie graduated from Fairview High School and later entered the United States Army in 1957.  After serving two years, he was honorably discharged and decided to continue his education at Prairie View A&M University. He later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business at Bishop College in Dallas, Texas.

In August 1965, he was united in Holy matrimony with Barbara Robinett in Dallas, Texas. Their union was blessed with two daughters. Willie was employed at the United States Postal Service for 20 years.

He departed this life on February 8, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his parents; Ulysses and Ira D. Jones, sisters; Ulysses Williams, Minnie Ola Jackson, Dorothy Louise Payton, Francis Spigner, and brother; Forest Jones,

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Barbara A. Jones, daughters; Dana McCampbell (Ray), Kelli Jones, granddaughter, the love of his life; Kylie Rae McCampbell, sisters; Joyce Rankin, Fannie D. Robinson, brothers; Morris Jones, Ulysses Jones, James Jones, sister—in–law; Shelley White,  a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
