Willie James Varner, age 64, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016.  He was born July 14, 1952 in Dallas, Texas.  He was a longtime resident of Houston, Texas, but recently returned to Dallas.

 Willie graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1970.  He went on to attend Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas.  He enjoyed athletics and was a coach to many.  He started the Zoom Track Club, where he coached both of his children.  He had a very kind heart and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

 Willie was employed with Pittsburg Paint and Glass for several years.  He also worked in security until his health declined.  In 1979, Willie united in marriage to Janet Jackson, and to this union, two children were born.  Later in June 2004, Willie married Erika Clark.

 Preceding his death were his parents Robert T. Varner and Mary Davis; sisters Shirley Hunter and Matilda Kelley; and brother Sherman Davis.

 Willie is survived by two children, Jade A. Varner and Anthony (TJ) Varner; his wife Erika Clark-Varner; two brothers, Larry Varner, LaTerry Davis and one sister Julia Carolyn Davis; one aunt Laura Burleson and other living relatives.
