Yolanda Yvette Mattox, a beloved soul whose compassionate spirit touched the lives of many, departed this world on January 25, 2025, at Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 55. Born on February 25, 1969, Yolanda's presence was a tapestry woven with kindness, dedication, and endless love for her family and friends.

Throughout her life, Yolanda dedicated herself to her work and community, proudly serving in the sanitation department for the City of Dallas. She held her Commercial Driving License for many years, a testament to her hard work and commitment. Her professional journey was characterized by the same dedication and zeal she brought to all aspects of her life.

Education was an important aspect of Yolanda’s journey. She completed her studies at South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas, Texas, an accomplishment that paved the way for a life filled with learning and growth. Her proudest moments often revolved around not only her own achievements but those of her family as well. She drew immense joy from being with her loved ones, cherishing the love they shared and the memories they created together.

Yolanda was a woman of deep empathy, known for always being there for everyone around her. Her doors were open to all, embodying the essence of hospitality and warmth. Friends and family alike found solace in her caring nature; she was a source of inspiration to many. Her spirited personality was beautifully complemented by her feisty resolve and her compassionate approach to life. Yolanda had a remarkable ability to connect with people, whether through her love for flowers, her enthusiasm for social gatherings, or simply by listening to the stories of those she cared for.

She leaves behind a loving family: her daughters, Laquita Mattox and Antanette Cox; her son, Willie Bradford; her mother, Myrtle Mattox; her grandsons, Dareon Bradford and Amias Bradford; and her siblings, Sheretta Morris Aguirre, Hyyawatha Autry, Lashonda Martin, Akkemma Mattox, (Brothers) Andre Valrie, and Rosheba Fennell. The memory of her brother, Bruce Tillman Jr., and her father, James Valrie, will forever remain in her family's hearts, cherished among the many fond memories they hold dear.

Yolanda Yvette Mattox is remembered not only for her tireless dedication and caring heart but also for the immense love she shared with her family. As she embarks on her next journey, her legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering love will undoubtedly continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known her.

A visitation will be held in memoriam on February 7, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Eternal Rest Funeral Home in DeSoto, Texas, located at 1400 N Hampton Rd. A funeral service will follow on February 8, 2025, commencing at 11:00 AM, with a conclusion thereafter at 12:30 PM.
