Pastor Gerald Weatherall Sr. a native of Greenville, Texas is the son of the Late Glenn Dell Weatherall and Hattie & Frankie Tennison.
He is happy to share his life, with his amazing wife, Minister Shanneca Beck Weatherall
Pastor Weatherall is Father to 9 amazing children, Deandre Hill, Reverend Avery Weatherall, Pastor Gerald Deon Weatherall, II, Raymond Beck, Treasure Beck, Shawna Annette Whire, Sheryl Denise McGregor, Reverend Calvin Wayne Smith and Jermondre Carter.
He was raised in a god fearing household and accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Greenville, Texas. There he grew and served in all aspects of church doctrine and discipline. He delivered his first message at the age of 15 at the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Greenville, Texas. He was
ordained at Bethlehem as one of the youngest pastors in the history of the church, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Bertrand M. Bailey Sr.
Gerald is a graduate of Greenville High School in Greenville, Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Study enhanced with Religion from Paul Quinn College, he is a licensed and ordained minister. He holds a degree in Applied Science in Funeral Service from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service.
Gerald is currently the Pastor of the New Mt. Horeb Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas. He is the newly elected Bishop of Eylyon Covenant Association. He serves as a Parliamentarian for the Dallas Funeral Directors Association and is a member of the executive board for the Independent Funeral Directors Association of Texas, Inc.
He has had the honor of holding the following ministerial positions at the following levels; Pastor of Rockyford Baptist Church in Roxton, Texas and Solid Rock Fellowship Baptist Church of Mesquite, Texas. He is affiliated with the National Baptist Missionary Convention of America and was selected as the host Pastor for the National Baptist Missionary Convention of America Winter Board Session 2013, was President of the Planning Committee. He was Vice Moderator at Large and a founding member of the Progressive New Life District Association under Moderator Rev. Dr. Joe Louis Rainbolt. Elyon Covenant Association under the leadership of Bishop Tony Monk.
After visiting a funeral home and seeing the backroom staff at work, Gerald became interested in the funeral industry. Young and full of ideas but no knowledge of the funeral industry he decided to leave seminary school to enroll at the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. Mortuary School was not a cake walk but with his faith in God and determination, he completed the necessary courses to begin his journey into the funeral industry. After mortuary school Gerald did his apprenticeship at Grundy Funeral Home under the direction of J.H. Johnson. His continued grow in the industry would lead him to Rest Lawn Funeral Home in Paris, Texas as General Manager, Austin Brothers’ Funeral Home in Amarillo, Texas as Manager and Starks Funeral Home in San Angelo, Texas as manager under the leadership of Maggie Starks.
In 2002 Gerald’s focus changed, he relocated from San Angelo, Texas back to Dallas to start a new career. Gerald was on a mission so he went back to corporate America and saved money for the next chapter of his funeral industry journey “Entrepreneurship”. Years later he would again step out on faith and withdraw his savings and 401k to become the majority owner of Grundy Funeral Home where his journey originally started in his hometown of Greenville, Texas. In 2002 after Grundy Funeral Home was damaged in a tragic fire, he sold his portion back to the original owner. He moved to Dallas and started Eternal Rest Funeral Home April 1, 2004 and in 2005 Young and Company Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Today, he continues to expand the Eternal Rest Funeral Home Brand with locations in Dallas, DeSoto, Ennis and Plano. “Creating Memories That Will Last A Lifetime.”
Gerald acknowledges that to be blessed and successful, it is necessary to rely on GOD’s word found in Proverbs 3:6: “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
